Marie Curie Charity eCards Help
Why send a Marie Curie charity e-Card?
Marie Curie eCards are a fun way to send greetings to friends and family around the world, and to give to charity while you do it. Charity e-Cards are animated, environmentally friendly and aren't dependent on Royal Mail, so you can be sure they'll arrive on time. And, depending on how many credits you buy, they cost less than the price of a first class stamp.
Also, because all proceeds from our charity e-Cards go directly to supporting our nurses and hospices, you'll be spreading goodwill with every card that you send.
How much do they cost?
Our e-Cards work on a credit system. For each credit that you buy, you can send an e-Card to a friend. The more credits you buy, the cheaper they get.
£1 = 1 eCard
£5 = 10 eCards
£10 = 25 eCards
£17.50 = 50 eCards
£30 = 100 eCards
How do I purchase credits?
Once you have registered for an e-Cards account you’ll be taken to a screen allowing you to buy your first credits. You can top up your credits at any time after that by clicking on the Top up link on the right hand side of the page header bar.
How secure is the Marie Curie charity e-Card payment system?
We’ve teamed up with WorldPay, a payment system which uses a combination of both established and innovative technologies to ensure the security and integrity of all sensitive data.
Furthermore, World Pay's public web servers are certified by Thawte, a public Certificate Authority, ensuring that both the shopper and retailer can have confidence that nobody can impersonate WorldPay to obtain confidential information.
How do I create an e-Card?
Once you've found a card that you'd like to send, you can create an e-Cards account for yourself and buy credits - each credit equals one e-Card that you can send to a friend.
Once you've signed in you can personalise your card with your own message (as long or as short as you like) and choose a font and colour.
Once you've composed your message you enter the email addresses of the people that you'd like to send it to, schedule when you'd like it to be sent and that's it - we'll do the rest.
How do I send my charity e-Card to a list of people?
You can send the same e-Card to any number of people, but remember that each delivery costs 1 credit. To send the same card to a group of people, organise your email address list so that each entry is separated by a comma, a space or a new line. It's a good idea to prepare these in a Word or Excel document or notepad before copying and pasting into the email addresses; box.
How will my friends receive their charity e-Cards?
An email will be sent to your friend's email address with your address in the "from" field, so that they will recognise who the message is being sent from. The email will tell them that you have sent them a Marie Curie e-Card, and will include a link. When your friend clicks on the link it will open an Internet browser window containing your chosen card and message.
Why wasn't my e-Card received?
Most of the time this is due to typing error, but we occasionally find that emails are being sent to out-of-date email addresses that are no longer being collected. To avoid this, be sure to double check when you enter your friends' and family's email addresses.
However, if you find the email address to be correct, your recipient's Internet Service Provider (ISP) could be routing charity e-Card notifications to a bulk or spam folder - Yahoo is known to do this. Therefore, your friend's eCard may be sitting in their spam folder.
Some workplaces also have strict policies regarding receiving only known email sender addresses and will have a firewall on their server to stop all other emails.
If you are still unable to find your charity e-Card, please contact us (link), quoting your email address and the email address that the card has not been delivered to.
